Kuala Lumpur, Monday, 13 July 2015:- The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM)’s member banks with operations in Sabah will offer support packages to assist communities and customers affected by the recent earthquake in the state.

Chuah Mei Lin, Executive Director of ABM said, “Banks are ready to support customers during these difficult times to ease some of the financial burdens brought about by the natural disaster. Affected individuals and businesses should contact their banks to find out what relief is available.”

The assistance provided by banks may include, but are not limited to deferring home loan repayments, restructuring business loans without incurring fees, or granting a temporary suspension of repayment instalments.

Members of the public who are for any reason unable to contact their banks are welcomed to inform ABM through ABMConnect at 1-300-88-9980 from Mondays to Fridays (save for public holidays), 9.00a.m. to 5.30p.m. or through our website www.abm.org.my.
