Kuala Lumpur, Thursday, 30 June 2016:- The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM) wishes to clarify that it will be business as usual on Friday, 8 July 2016 for commercial banks, with the exception of bank branches in the states of Kelantan and Terengganu which observe Friday as their weekend. Bank branches in Pulau Pinang will be closed on Friday, 8 July 2016 in conjunction with the Georgetown Heritage Day. This clarification is made following the announcement by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Dr Ali Bin Hamsa that Friday, 8 July 2016 has been declared as a special day-off for Federal civil servants in the event Hari Raya Aidilfitri falls on Wednesday, 6 July 2016
