The Association of Banks In Malaysia (ABM) participated in the Malaysia-Korea ESG Forum 2025, held on Monday, 19 May 2025 at the Zenith Hotel Putrajaya. Themed “Enabling Climate Actions and ESG Finance”, the forum aimed to strengthen collaboration between Malaysia and Korea in advancing climate action and sustainable finance across the region.
The event was marked by the presence of the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Malaysia, H.E. Yeo Seung-bae and the Minister of Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES), YB Tuan Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad, who shared insights on regional climate efforts.
Key discussions at the forum included updates on ESG and climate policies in both countries, developments in carbon markets through their respective exchanges, and the critical role of climate finance in accelerating sustainable development. The forum served as a valuable platform for exchanging insights and aligning cross-border efforts to mobilise green capital.
Representing UOB Malaysia, Ms Moreen Joseph, Chief Sustainability Officer and Co-Chair of the JC3 SME Focus Group, spoke on Malaysia’s sustainable financing trajectory. Meanwhile, Ms Chiok Sook Yin, Head of Foreign Direct Investment Advisory, shared insights on connecting businesses to green opportunities across Asia.
