On Friday, 30 May 2025, The Association of Banks In Malaysia (ABM) participated in the official launch of AI Malaysia (AIM) and its inaugural AI Conversations 2025, a landmark event bringing together key voices from industry, academia, and the public sector to shape the trajectory of AI in the region and beyond. The occasion also marked AIM’s official establishment as a dedicated platform to connect Malaysian businesses with AI research and development across ASEAN and the global stage.

The event was officiated by YB Gobind Singh Deo, Minister of Digital, and developed with valuable contributions from Openmind Research Institute and Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (UTAR). A highlight of the event was the keynote address by Dr. Richard Sutton, founder of Openmind Research and recipient of the 2024 Turing Award, often regarded as the “Nobel Prize of Computing”.
