Day 2 Success: Driving Regional Cooperation at the 53rd ASEAN Banking Council Meeting! (20 November 2025)

November 20, 2025

We had a highly productive Day 2 in Yangon, Myanmar, as the 53rd ASEAN Banking Council Meeting continued its focus on strengthening regional collaboration.

On November 20, 2025, three crucial Permanent Committees of the ASEAN Bankers Association convened simultaneously, setting the agenda for emerging trends and critical areas:

🔹 ASEAN Inter-Regional Relation (ASEAN IRR): Fostering connections across regions.
🔹 Banking Education: Advancing regional knowledge and talent development.
🔹 Cooperation in Finance, Investment, Trade & Technology (COFITT): Driving shared economic and technological progress.

We were proud to see the The Association of Banks in Malaysia (ABM), as the Chair of ASEAN IRR, lead a very productive session alongside Mr Shan Sutheshan of Maybank.

The day concluded with the Caucus Meeting and the 10th Annual General Meeting (AGM), attended by the ASEAN Heads of Delegations.

These collective engagements strongly reaffirm ASEAN’s commitment to unity, innovation, and shared progress—bridging regions and strengthening relationships between member states.
