The Association of Banks in Malaysia as the Chair of the ASEAN Bankers Association (“ABA”) Permanent Committee on Inter-Regional Relations (“IRR”), organised the 2^nd Session of the ABA Virtual Study Tour 2024 where Mr Hazremi Hamid, Senior Officer, Digital Economy Division of the ASEAN Secretariat (to tag ASEC) presented on ASEAN Guide on AI Governance and Ethics on 25 September 2024.

About 50 participants comprising senior bankers and representatives from 8 ASEAN countries’ National Banking Associations (namely Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Vietnam and Malaysia) and their respective members participated in the session.

The session was indeed very productive and fruitful for all the delegates, who came away with a much better overall understanding on the ASEAN Guide on AI Governance and Ethics.
