In Singapore’s Budget 2024 announcement, the S$4,000 SkillsFuture top-up for Singaporeans aged 40 and above underscored the importance of lifelong learning to help one stay relevant amidst rapid technological changes. More than 500 guests took part in the UOB Privilege Conversations ASEAN where industry leaders gave insights on ASEAN’s economic outlook, and how current global geopolitical dynamics play a part in shaping ASEAN’s future. George Yeo, Former Foreign Affairs Minister of Singapore and currently a Visiting Scholar at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, gave his views on the importance of ASEAN stability and unity, the benefits of riding China’s growth wave, and the dichotomy of Artificial Intelligence. Executive Chairman of YTL Group of Companies, Tan Sri (Sir) Francis Yeoh, also shared his insights on how businesses need geopolitical bridges and infrastructure to counter geopolitical volatilities. On the reason behind organising the event, our Head of Group Personal Financial Services Jacquelyn Tan said, “With the largest footprint in ASEAN, we build the future of ASEAN and capture the growing affluence as well as the purchasing power of the individuals living across the region. We are also best positioned to drive the connectivity flows across individuals and businesses across ASEAN, facilitating not only their wealth but also payment flows in the region.”

We have once again clinched the title of Best Bond Advisor in ASEAN at The Asset Triple A Awards for Sustainable Finance 2024. We also took home the awards for Best Bond Adviser in Singapore, Best Local Currency Bond Advisor as well as multiple country deal awards across ASEAN and Greater China this year. “Winning these prestigious awards are extremely valuable to us, as these accolades are highly recognised by our issuer and investor clients, as well as banks in the corporate and investment banking space. This would not have been possible without the long-term partnership and trust from our clients, of which many have given us repeat fundraising mandates.” – Edmund Leong, Head of Group Investment Banking at UOB #OneBankForASEAN
