Companies in Indonesia, China, Thailand and Vietnam are particularly keen to expand overseas, according to the UOB Business Outlook Study 2023 (SME & Large Enterprises). The top markets that businesses are eyeing for expansion are ASEAN - notably Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia - as well as China. It's encouraging to see that a significant majority of businesses in Asia are looking to expand internationally in the coming years, despite the challenges they face. This highlights a strong growth potential in the region and the increasing importance of global business networks. It's important for businesses to seek support from government and private sectors in addressing challenges such as finding the right partners and navigating legal and regulatory requirements. By collaborating and leveraging resources, businesses can overcome these obstacles and tap into new markets to achieve their growth aspirations.
