UOB Malaysia and The FinLab held the Jom Transform – Sustainability Accelerator Programme in October 2023, which aims to empower SMEs with the foundational knowledge in adopting sustainable practices and accelerating their transition to a low carbon economy. The inaugural programme brings together over 150 SMEs and industry associations for a three-day workshop, where participants were equipped with knowledge on international case studies, key trends, solutions and insights on sustainability to help them future-proof their businesses and improve their competitiveness. Together with the Sustainability Accelerator Programme, UOB Sustainability Compass was launched to complement participating SMEs with the opportunity to evaluate their sustainability maturity stages and receive personalised reports which outline actionable steps and data points to further develop concrete ESG plans. #SustainableFutureWithUOB

Nearly half of the worlds largest stock listed companies have publicly committed to Net Zero.  Global ESG Assets under management are expected to triple, reaching one quarter of global AUM by 2026.  Money raised by impact startups has grown 5x in the last 5 years to $200 billion.  Sustainability/ESG/green job demand has grown 9% p.a. over the last 5 years while supply is only up 5%.  Swiss Re estimates that the cost of climate change if unmitigated will lead global GDP to be reduced by 11-14%, South and SE Asia will be impacted most by climate risk and transition risk.
