The on-going strategic alliance between AmBank and Credit Guarantee Corporation Malaysia (CGC) sees an additional financing of RM400 million with guarantee from CGC, under the SME Portfolio Guarantee Scheme. A total of almost RM5 billion has been allocated and has benefited more than 6,000 SMEs since its launch in January 2015. Jamie Ling, our Group Chief Executive Officer, in his opening remarks, expressed the Bank’s commitment to the SME segment – the backbone of the country’s economy. Datuk Mohd Zamree Mohd Ishak Awadan, President & CEO of CGC, in his speech, emphasised the importance on the revival of the Portfolio Guarantee as it fulfils both organisations’ mandate to assist the unserved and underserved MSMEs leveraging e-commerce platforms. At the signing ceremony, Aaron Loo, our MD of AmBank Retail Banking, and Sean T., Chief Business Officer, CGC, penned their signatures as Jamie Ling and Datuk Zamree witnessed. With the new tranche, AmBank will continue to provide financing of up to RM1mil as working capital to SMEs. Additionally, we will offer Pay-As-You-Grow (PayG) Term Loan product for financing of RM20,000 up to RM500,000. #AmBank #CGC #SME #MSME #PayG
