I am glad to be invited by Bank Negara Malaysia to participate in the Sasana Symposium 2023, featuring experts and thought leaders in #economics, the financial sector, #socialprotection and more. Key topics discussed include #monetarypolicy, #digitalisation, social safety nets, #islamicfinance and #sustainability. During the Panel Session 4 on Monetary Policy, a discussion was made by AG Fraziali and Chief Economist of Bank Islam, Firdaos Rosli on the wage-price spiral risks, which attracts my attention that wage and productivity level in Malaysia are not rising at the same pace while a lack of workers bargaining power contributes to the low growth in income.
