Affin Bank recognises women entrepreneurs with AFFINGEM Awards

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Bank Bhd recognised inspiring women entrepreneurs with the first AFFINGEM Awards. 

In a statement, the bank said AFFINGEM Awards, which made its debut at the 6th Dream Factory Startup Contest, is an award dedicated to women entrepreneurs who displayed a sharp business acumen, creative thinking and outstanding commitment throughout the contest. 

This is the bank’s third year of collaboration with MyStartr Sdn Bhd and Dream Factory Sandbox Sdn Bhd.

The Dream Factory Startup Contest aims to provide a resourceful and creative platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to grow their businesses sustainably. 

This year saw 511 registrations with 68 start-ups successfully crowdfunding RM8,800 before embarking on an intense capacity building in business through the 21 Professional Courses, as well as a one-to-one mentorship programme with local and international industry experts. 

President and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah Wan Ali said that as the leading commercial bank that has been actively venturing into the start-up segment, Affin Bank is dedicated to spotlighting the community of agile entrepreneurs and their forward-thinking businesses.

Affin Bank said ABC JUNIOR, an online preschool search platform, emerged as this year’s champion, walking away with RM30,000 in cash, an all-expenses-paid six-day-five-night business networking trip overseas, as well as bonuses and certificates worth over RM50,000. – BERNAMA
