Our 6th annual community engagement programme, RHB Touch Hearts is back! In conjunction with the World Humanitarian Day on 19 August 2023, over 14,000 RHBians across ASEAN took part in various activities and programme, all aimed at bolstering communities. Our Group Human Resource took center stage in the realm of environmental conservation. A remarkable feat was achieved as we planted a grand total of 500 trees in the serene landscapes of Sungai Menyala Forest Reserve, Port Dickson. Immersed in a collective spirit, we embarked on truck rides, nurtured the earth by planting trees, and synergized as a cohesive team, harmonizing with the natural world. This endeavor brought profound and gratification to each of us. Not only did we contribute to both community and nature, but we also reveled in the interludes of the process itself. Stay tuned for our other Touch Hearts initiatives that we will be sharing soon, organized by the heart and soul of other RHB divisions. #RHB #TogetherWeProgress #RHBTouchHearts #GHRTouchHearts #GHR #GroupHumanResource #SaveTheEarth

When working with Indigenous communities, it's essential to foster an inclusive and respectful approach that honours their traditions, values, and perspectives. Here are some valuable tips and resources to help individuals and organisations cultivate meaningful connections. To begin, education is key. Take the time to educate yourself about the histories, cultures, and contemporary issues relevant to the Indigenous communities you engage with. Seek out books, workshops, and online resources that provide accurate and respectful information. Building relationships based on trust and mutual understanding is crucial. Reach out to Indigenous community leaders, organisations, and elders for guidance and collaboration. Listen attentively to their experiences and perspectives, and be open to learning from their wisdom. Respect cultural protocols and boundaries. Understand and abide by the cultural practices and traditions established within the Indigenous communities you work with. Seek permission when necessary, observe appropriate etiquette, and honour sacred spaces. Amplify Indigenous voices and provide platforms for community members to share their stories, knowledge, and achievements. Avoid speaking on their behalf and prioritise their self-representation. Engage in collaborative efforts that empower Indigenous communities. Support initiatives that promote self-determination, cultural preservation, and economic empowerment. Ensure that Indigenous communities have a meaningful say in decisions that affect them. By implementing these tips and utilising the available resources, individuals and organisations can cultivate genuine relationships, foster cultural understanding, and work towards positive change. Together, let's build a future where Indigenous communities are respected, valued, and empowered. #Mumpara #MumparaGroup #BreakTheCycle #MakeADifference #FamilyFocused #EmpoweringPeopleToAchieve #WorkforceDevelopment #IndigenousEmployment #Holistic #EmpoweringIndigenousJobseekers #ClosingTheGap #NorthernTerritory #Darwin #TiwiIslands

COMMUNITY AIDS & SOCIAL EMPATHY INITIATIVE #FACT FRIDAY The Sustainable Development Report is a yearly ranking of the performances of countries by measuring their overall progress towards achieving the 17 SDGs and a score of 100 shows that all SDGs have been achieved. While European countries are leading the implementation of SDGs, African countries are lagging, as Algeria, which is ranked at 64 out of 163 countries is the best amongst others on the continent. It is hoped that countries will take more proactive steps in implementing the SDGs as they are the guide posts for achieving sustainable development in present society. #sustainabledevelopment

One promising approach for promoting family planning use within traditionally hard-to-reach populations is to integrate services with those of other development sectors, Integrating messages and services from different sectors offers several potential advantages over traditional, single-sector development programs. For example, in the field of population, health, and environment (PHE), family planning and other health services are linked with environmental conservation initiatives, which allows environmental programs to educate communities about the relationship between rapid population growth and environmental degradation. facilitating access to family planning services and publicizing their role in preventing unplanned pregnancies, environmental programs can offer a practical, immediate action that contributes to the future conservation of natural resources, (Theresa et al; 20215). In line with this, the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) in partnership with Talanoa Consulting and the Pacific Community (SPC) provided specific support to Kiwa project beneficiaries to ensure GEDSI is effectively integrated into Kiwa projects being implemented in 15 Pacific island countries and territories (PICTs). The support was provided during a Kiwa Initiative Regional Workshop held in Suva Fiji on 18 May 2023. It was attended by 35 representatives from Kiwa regional projects, including PoetCOM for Pacific Organic Learning Farms Network, SPREP for the PEBACC+ project, Wildlife Conservation Society for the WISH+ project, BirdLife for the INSPIRE project, OneReef for the MiCOAST project and other Kiwa partners.
