HomeArchivesChecklist for Opening of Account by RE / ROs

Revised Customer Service Charter

The Association of Banks in Malaysia in collaboration with Bank Negara Malaysia and the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA), has prepared a checklist to serve as a reference for foreign Representative or Regional Offices (RE/ROs) approved by MIDA and wishing to open bank account(s) with local banks in Malaysia. The RE/ROs are essentially foreign entities (without an incorporated local presence) which have been granted approval by MIDA to commence a feasibility study initiating business operations here.

Please note that this checklist (internal note: link to open document) is not exhaustive and serves as a general guide. Each bank may still request for additional documents on a case-to-case basis according to its own internal policies and procedures.
